Ingredients
- Lime wedges — Native to Southeast Asia, the lime is the king of Caribbean citrus. Bright acidity and a far more intense zesty aroma than juice alone.
- Simple syrup — Equal parts sugar and water: the liquid sugar of every bartender in the world. Roundness, without any distracting flavour.
- Fresh mint — Spearmint, the herb of Havana's Mojitos. A cool, green, minty breeze.
- Amber rum — Distilled from sugar cane in the Caribbean, then aged in casks. The Mojito itself was born in Havana. Vanilla, cane and gentle spice, rounder than a white rum.
- Angostura Bitters — Created in 1824 by Dr Siegert in the town of Angostura, Venezuela. Now made in Trinidad and Tobago, it is the most famous bitters in the world. Clove, cinnamon and gentian: depth and a longer finish.
